Holidays!

December 10, 2011

It is the time of year where everyone is scrambling to get their holiday parties planned, the house decorated and gifts bought.  Decorating the house for a party doesn’t have to be difficult or expensive.

Here are some tips from Ladyhawk Events on decorating.

Christmas place cards are an easy craft and a beautiful way to express the holidays.  All you need is left over Christmas cards you have saved, some festive card stock, holiday colored binder clips, glue dots and festive stickers (optional).  First decide on the size of the place cards, I recommend a 3 x 5. Second cut out the number of 3 x 5 pieces of card stock you need. Third cut out the design or image on the card with straight or decorative scissors. Fourth glue dot or craft glue the pieces together and add your decorations.  Lastly place the coordinating binder clip on the bottom and viola you are done.

Ornaments aren’t just for the tree!

You can make your coffee table, sofa table; dining room table and mantle stand out.  Whether they’re in a holiday bowl or a clear glass vase, it makes a wonderful decoration for the holidays. If you have a plain flat surface, this is a easy way to dress it up for the holidays. This is also a great idea if you are having a Christmas or winter themed wedding.  The obvious colors for Christmas are reds, greens, and golds. Some wonderful alternatives to the traditional colors are blues, silvers and whites.

I recommend stores like Garden Ridge, Old Time Pottery, Factory Direct and Ollie’s for great yet inexpensive decorations.

Have a great holiday!
